Sabbath Day
Which day is the proper sabbath day that we should be keeping? Thanks in advance!
Re: Sabbath Day
The correct day of the Sabbath is recorded in Genesis 2:2, 3. The day here is recorded as the seventh day. Days originally did not have names and were referred to by numbers. Later when days were given names the seventh day became known as -Saturday.
The Sabbath is later recorded in the ten commandments given by God on Mount Sinai. Exodus 20:8-11. This statement begins with remember showing us the Sabbath was already known.
Jesus proclaims himself Lord of Sabbath. Matthew 12:8. This shows Jesus recognition of the seventh day Sabbath. It also shows Jesus had no intention of changing the Sabbath day.
Lastly for this answer we can look to Revelation 12:17; 14:12. In these scriptures we are shown that followers of God in the end time will still be keeping those commandments and therefore the Sabbath day.
This is some of the evidence that the Sabbath was, is and will be the seventh day or the day we call Saturday.
